Information about buying online
Buying online is safe and secure. We use the World Pay service to collect your payment and you can pay using a range of credit or debit cards. All of our transactions are carried out in UK pounds and you are protected by the UK Distance Selling Regulations.
This page should answer most of your questions about buying your Silver Sox online, but if you need any further assistance or have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact us.
What size do I need?
Our Medium sized socks fit UK adult shoe sizes 3½ to 8 (Euro size 36 to 42). Our Large sized sock fits UK adult shoe sizes 6 to 11 (Euro size 39 to 45). All of our socks are manufactured with spandex as one of the fibres used in the mix. The elasticity of spandex allows the sock to follow the contours of the foot, providing maximum comfort across a range of shoe sizes.
Are the items you advertise in stock?
Normally yes. If we have low stocks of any item you will see this mentioned on the website when you browse our socks catalogue. If the product you ordered is out of stock, either temporarily or permanently, we will advise you as soon as we are able. If we cannot supply the items you want and you do not want any alternatives, we will gladly refund any monies. We will not substitute alternative products without your permission.
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
When you place your order you will receive an automatic order acknowledgement by e-mail. All goods will be despatched within seven working days of receipt of order and will be shipped by first class post. You will be advised by email on the day of posting. As part of our policy of helping the world environment, our packaging is kept to a minimum. The socks are packed at manufacture in a clear strong plastic re-sealable wallet and despatched in a strong jiffy bag, small enough to fit through most letterboxes. Recorded delivery will be used for orders over £30. Please note that we can deliver only to addresses in the UK.
What if my order does not arrive?
In most cases, your socks will arrive within 3 or 4 days of you placing your order. However, please allow 15 working days for the post office to make the delivery. Unfortunately the Post Office will not class a parcel as missing until 15 working days have elapsed. After that time, in the unlikely event that your order has still not arrived, please contact us by e-mail for help. Quoting your order number will enable us to track your order more quickly.
What if my socks arrive damaged or faulty?
The socks will be despatched in perfect condition, packaged in a strong clear re-sealable bag and posted in a padded jiffy bag. As the weight of the socks is minimal this robust package has been tested to withstand most postage situations. However, should the bag be damaged in any way, please contact us by e-mail for further help.
What if I change my mind after the order arrives?
We want you to be completely happy with your socks. Should you not be satisfied with your purchase in any way, we will be pleased to offer a refund on any unworn item returned in its original packaging and original condition. The plastic tag attaching the X-static® label to the socks must not be broken. If you have opened the packaging and then decide to return the goods, you will need to contact us by email to obtain authorisation before returning them. Items must also be sent back within seven working days of receipt, using the address below:

A note should be enclosed with any items returned quoting your order number. Please tell us why you are dissatisfied. Your feedback will help us improve our service. You are advised to obtain proof of posting for your returns. Upon receipt of the returned items, we will refund the purchase price to the debit or credit card used for the original order and email you confirmation when the credit has been processed. This will usually be within 14 days of receipt of the returned items.
Why do you need my email address?
The secure payment service we use, World Pay, requires an email address in order to take your online payment and we use your email address to notify you of reciept and despatch of your order. If you do not wish to receive any further information from Silver sox, there is an opt out box on the order form, and you can also opt out of receiving further information from us at any time in the future. Silver sox respects your privacy and we NEVER pass your email address onto third parties. If you are concerned about giving your email address to online retailers, a good solution is to set up a disposable account with a free webmail service such as Hotmail or Yahoo and use it just for online shopping receipts.
